Outdoor Resorts at Gatlinburg
Wireless Internet (WiFi) Access Information
We have one antenna on the roof of the Recreation Hall, plust repeaters on the bathhouses and another antenna on the ORG office building at the entrance to the park.
Because we are in a valley surrounded by mountains and trees, our signal is at times limited. The wireless signals are microwaves and are absorbed, to some extent, by organic material such as the leaves on the trees. Weather and line of sight plays a part in our ability to receive a signal. The microwaves can be further impeded by the fact that the campers are metal.
Our technician has tweaked our system and repaired a router on one of the bathhouses. He has advised us that if lot owners want a guaranteed signal they should invest in a USB WIFI card with external antenna that can be attached.
